The Man. The Mystery. The Madness.

Dex Foray has never been anyone’s fool – until he missed his chance for happiness with Perry Palomino. Told from Dex’s POV, And With Madness Comes the Light is short story/novella that spans the time period from the end of Lying Season (Book #4) until the end of On Demon Wings (Book #5). Oh, Karina….what have you done to me?

After the infamous ‘bow-chicka-wow-wow” moment in Lying Season I didn’t think my heart could hurt any worse than it already did….

…but I was SOOO wrong.

With ‘And With Madness Comes The Light’ we are getting Dex’s side of the story. And it is pure agony.

“All I could see was this darkness, this black oblivion that sucked me dry until I was nothing but a husk of my former self. There was no light in all this madness. My tattoo was a lie.”

I know for many of us we were wondering what the hell Dex was thinking after he took a wrecking ball to Perry’s heart. Did I want Dex to suffer for that unspeakable action?
But our once passionate, strong, funny (well he’s still funny) Dex was drowning in his own sorrow. I know I wanted him to grovel and suffer after he hurt our poor Perry, but I didn’t realize how heartbreaking it could be.

“I fucked up. More than I have ever fucked up before. I had the love of my life in my hands for one beautiful, exquisite moment before I ripped her apart and my heart bore the paper cuts.”

His heartbreak and loneliness are what fuels his transformation from his drunk, unkempt, addicted-to-doritos self into the buff, sexy, suave charmer we all know Dex is. With the help of his friends Rebecca and Dean, Dex starts to change and mature all while biding his time for his love, Perry.

“Shit. Dean and I had gone from workout buddies to acting like a bunch of overanalysing pussies. Next thing you knew, we’d start having our periods at the same time.”

There is a notable appearance by his ex-girlfriend (THANK GOD!) the devil-in-disguise known as Jenn, who is moving out with her new bang-buddy Bradley.

And thankful while Dex is cloaked in darkness, well he still manages to put a smile on my face.

“Jenn,” Bradley yelled from the living room, “maybe we should come back after we call the hazmat team.” “Great idea,” I yelled back. “They can spray you both down for your crotch rot while they’re at it.”

There are a couple close calls during Dex’s romantic recovery. One notable example in the form a skank Dex encounters at a bar.

“Nailing someone in the bathroom of a grungy metal bar was a probably one of the grossest, dirtiest things you could do. But I felt like bathing in dirt after being so clean for the last month”

HELL NO! We like you clean Dex, well at least clean of STD’S. but Dex isn’t the same man anymore. And finally Dex has the opportunity to prove what kind of man he has become. After a frantic call from Perry’s sister Ada, Dex is on a mission to save Perry from the evil that is surrounding her.

“I didn’t want to be that guy anymore, the one that hurt her. I wanted to be me. Perhaps the same me she had seen underneath all this time.”

While Dex hatches a plan with Bird (from Red Fox) to exorcize the evil from Perry, he also didn’t plan on his other obstacle standing in his way—Max. Yes that redheaded twattwaffle, douchecanoe has been taking liberties from a possessed Perry, and when this discretion come to light, well Dex sees red.

“Wildcat in the sack. He liked it rough.

Perry had scratched him during sex.

Perry had slept with Maximus.

He stuck his dick in her.

I was going to be sick.

I was going to cry.

Oh, wait. No, I was going to BEAT THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF HIM!”

Dex and Maximus finally come to blows. Dex was a crazed, violent, beast of a man….and I was totally turned on…..

After some family interference, Ada logic, and a quick getaway, Dex finally has Perry with him. After a stressful night driving, Dex, Ada and Perry make there way to Lapwai. After some exorcism preparation, Dex finally learns the truth of what really happened to Perry in his absence.

“She’d lost it. What was ours. What was love. What was life. There was pain and then there was agony. Hello, agony. I’d been waiting for you. Finish me off. Please.”

If that moment does not leave you in miserable gut-wrenching sobs as it did me, well you must be the tin-man. So after some cray-cray exorcism business, Dex goes all romantic-self-sacrificing-amazeballs man we know who he is and he pulls Perry from the darkness for good.

“It all fades away when I’m with you. Everything fades until it’s just you and it’s just me. I’m Dex and you’re Perry and I love you. I won’t stop loving you, even when you won’t love me. I love you more than I can ever really tell you. I love you until the end.”

‘And With Madness Comes The Light’ is heartbreaking-ly beautiful. To finally get into Dex’s head and heart is the greatest experience as a fan of the series. He is by no means perfect, but he is real and honest and passionate. What more could you want? If you want to spend a good hour or two crying, swooning, laughing and falling in love with Dex all over again, ‘And With Madness Comes The Light’ is a novella you HAVE to read. And to quote Dex just one more time:

“A world without Perry Palomino is just too fucking boring. I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone.”

Turning Point Review (Kathleen Turner #3) by Tiffany Snow

After her promotion from law firm Runner to Investigator, Kathleen Turner is learning the ropes of her new job from none other than assassin-for-hire Kade Dennon, a situation her boyfriend Blane Kirk is none too happy about. But the lessons with Kathleen take a back seat when Kade becomes a target. Previously untouchable, his enemies now know of the chink in his armor – his brother’s girlfriend.

And Kade’s not the only thing coming between Kathleen and Blane. From Blane’s inexplicable defense of a man guilty of a horrible crime, to a mysterious stranger from Kathleen’s past, to Kathleen’ risky investigation into human traffickers, the obstacles mount against a relationship that’s just begun to find trust again.

While Blane considers a job offer that would take him back to the front lines in the war on terror, Kathleen is determined to pursue her new career, with or without his approval. Unfortunately, her current case is far more dangerous than anyone knows. Someone close to Blane will go to extreme lengths to split them up, lengths that may prove worse than death for Kathleen.

Kathleen, Blane and Kade must atone for the sins of the past and the present. The fallout will force Kathleen to a turning point…in her career, and her life. (Goodreads)

Where do I start? This book has everything! Let’s start with the visuals…

Kathleen Turner comes from a long line of famous Turners. Well not really, but her family plays on their last name, with her father being named Ted Turner and her grandmother Tina Turner. Previously employed as a runner for law firm Kirk and Trent, she is now a current investigator working under Kade Dennon.

Kade Dennon has black hair, blue eyes, and looks that kill. Yes literally. As a former FBI agent, Kade currently works as an assassin and he has Kathleen under his tutelage. Kade is also the half brother of Kathleen’s on/again off/again boyfriend Blane. This causes many problems because Kade has his eye on Kathleen….

Blane Kirk is former Navy Seal who is high-power attorney at Kirk and Trent. With dark blonde hair, green eyes, the former playboy Blane is quite the catch. Blane is closed off, overprotective, and set in his ways.

This series has it all. A loveable heroine, Kathleen is smart, hardworking and vulnerable. Kathleen is my favorite type of heroine. She is strong-willed and brave but knows when to ask for help and I love that about her ❤

Now what keeps me coming back to this series is Kade and Blane. Swooon

I REALLY loved Blane….at first. Now don’t get me wrong I still do, but Kade is killing me….

“Are you sleeping with him?” I choked on my beer. “I can’t believe you just asked me that” I sputtered, my cheeks burning, “That means your not,” he said, and there was no mistaking the satisfaction in his voice. “It’s been six weeks. If Blane hasn’t sealed the deal by now, it’s open season.” I was almost afraid to ask. “Open season on what?” The look in his eyes made my breath catch. “On you.”

Yes, I totally went there. Kade is sexy, dangerous and the ultimate forbidden fruit. But Kade is much more than looks. He is also protective, sweet, and getting under Kathleen’s skin…

“I look into your eyes and see my soul written there.” I was stunned, listening to words I shouldn’t hear, words he shouldn’t utter. Yet I couldn’t make myself push him away. The agony and adulation in his eyes held me captive. “I want to tell you how i knew from the moment I laid eyes on you that you were destined to be my downfall.”

Now I still love Blane and the moments between him and Kathleen were hot as hell.

“Do you want me inside you, Kat?” he asked his voice rough. I jerked my head in a nod. “Say it. Tell me what you want.” I swallowed, my cheeks burning. “I want you,” I pushed past my dry lips. “Want me to what?” My restraint broke. “Please Blane,” I begged. “I want you inside me.”

But the sexual tension isn’t the only thing going on in Turning Point. Kathleen is living in a dangerous world and this time she is on the brink of losing everything….

I could NOT put down this book. Fair warning, this book leaves off on a MAJOR cliffhanger. Just when you think there was gonna be some happiness and all that jazz

If your looking for a thrilling, sexy, jaw dropping series I could not recommend this series more! Make sure to check out Book 1&2 before reading Turning Point.

What Others Had To Say :

This book is spicy and fun! The misadventures of Lexi and Laya combined with the hot steamy sex scenes kept me from putting this book down. There were too many “did that just really happen” scenes. Loved the book and highly recommend!

The Way Back To Me

His eyes are on fire. He pushes me back through the door and locks it. “Oh, Lexi. You were taking too long in here.” Ordinarily this type of thing would scare the hell out of me, but he makes it seem so fucking hot. I put my hands up in protest, but he grabs them as he pushes me against the restroom wall. Raising my hands above my head with one hand, he strokes my face with the other all the while pressing his body against mine. I can feel that his dick is fully erect and ready for business, which only causes my pussy to become a traitor to my body. “If you don’t want to do this, all you have to do is say no. I’ll walk out of here like nothing happened and I will take you back to your car.” He whispers this in my ear and for some reason I believe him. “What do you say, Lexi? Yes or No?” I can barely hear myself mumble yes. That’s all the good doctor needed to hear.

Author Bio:

I am a stay-at-home mom for the second year in a row. My three young children keep me on my toes as well as our crazy dog and hamster. Thank goodness I have such a loving and supportive husband!!

Writing has been my secret goal that I put on my bucket list of things to do before I hit 40. As my loving sister pointed out to me last summer, I turn 40 in a few short months. There are definitely things that were on the bucket list that I had to just remove. For instance, I will never be a size 6 again. I removed it from my list by tearing it off and shredding it.

However, writing was one that I just couldn’t bring myself to erase from the list. Knowing this about me, my sister pushed and prodded me to just start writing something…she strongly suggested something with adult content.

So caving to her pressure, I started to write The Way Back To Me. I gradually pulled her into the writing process as she had spent an enormous amount of time reading “mommy porn” and together we completed The Way Back To Me in November 2012. We have already started a sequel that should be ready to go by the end of February 2013.

I am also in the beginning process of another romance novel that I hope to complete by the summer of 2013.

This book was funny, sexy and very heartfelt. I get nervous reading erotica these days because the subject matter seems to follow in a similar pattern. Millionaire BDSM dude waltz in and takes away the virginity of some ‘doe-in-headlights’ young woman. The first couple of books I read like that I enjoyed, but when the trend in literature was the same format being re-used and re-hashed, well I grew tired of it. I want to read about real people with real problems trying to find their way in world.

The Way Back to Me was a very refreshing change of pace. The book centers around 39 year old divorcee and mother of 3, Lexi Reynolds. Poor Lexi is still licking her wounds that she suffered at the hands of her ex husbands infidelity. She is lonely and a little lost. I could immediately sympathize and relate to Lexi. She spent so much time building her family and supporting her husband that after they divorced, Lexi was a shell of her former self. No confidence, no career, and no happy ending, It isn’t until her sister, Layla, intervenes that Lexi starts to find the way back to herself.

I love the relationship between Lexi and Layla. They could throw punches one minute and hug and laugh the next. They do not sugarcoat each others problems and are always there for one another. The situations those two get into are hilarious and cringe worthy. There were a couple moments where I was shaking my head and laughing so hard. Especially one moment involving a ‘schooch’ moment. Trust me, read the book. I was in hysterics. Layla forces Lexi to take a look in the mirror and rejoin life again, instead of letting it pass her by. Layla is a sister in the truest sense of the word. She is supportive, honest, and has Lexi’s best interests at heart.

In the midst of Lexi’s new self discovery, she encounters not only one but two sexy, successful men. First, there is retired athlete Patrick Dane. Dane has Greek god looks and the chemistry between him and Lexi is off the charts, but Dane is still dealing with a few ghosts of his own. Second, there is Sebastian Cameron, sexy and domineering surgeon. He is bossy, infuriating but oh sooooo yummy. But is he enough for Lexi? Both are appealing and delicious but I am Team Sebastian here 🙂

And last but not least we are introduced to Lexi’s 3 amazing daughters Sasha, Marie, and Olivia. They are the center of Lexi’s world and I can understand why. They are funny, sweet and the moments Lexi shared with them made me love this story even more. Lexi is a wonderful mother and what I loved most about this book was her trying to find herself in every role in her life; as a single mother, as a career woman, as a lover, and most importantly as herself.

The Way Back to Me was an honest story about real people. I didn’t spend my time reading about impossible fairy tales with unrealistic characters. What I read was one woman’s attempt to figure who she is after her expectations of happily ever after ended, and how she ended up finding herself along the way. I cannot wait for the next book!
